Sustainability through Community.

Do your little bit of good where you are; it’s those little bits of good put together that overwhelm the world.

– Archbishop Desmond Tutu

Anneth Farm began in 2016 by married duo and agrarian dreamers Chris and Stan Vuksic. Chris has always wanted to farm, and spent time studying agriculture in university before transferring to medicine. Stan’s family have worked the land in Eastern Europe for centuries - growing food is in his blood.

They are both retired physicians, and have come to realize that the key to health is not curing disease but preventing it with healthy choices, especially nutrition. They like to joke that even though they are retired, they are both still in the health care “field”.

In the spring of 2016 they decided to take the leap, purchased a century old farmhouse on the Saanich Peninsula, and began working to fulfill their shared dream. They named their farm Anneth, which means “home” in Cornish, as it is both home and farm. For the Vuksics the two are inextricably linked, and home to them is more than just their house. Home is food, family, and community. As we move into the age of climate change, home and farm also mean adapting and building resilience for an uncertain future. Chris and Stan are working hard to develop a farm that stewards the land, provides diverse and nutritious food to the community, and brings people together.

Welcome.
